Opportunities to Volunteer at ROOF Community Services

October

Ø Kids’ Place After-School Program needs volunteers to help young children with homework, read books and work on math facts. The program operates Monday through Friday 3:15-5:15 PM. This program is offered all year.

Ø ESL Classes need volunteers to help out in the children’s portion of the class every Monday and Tuesday nights from 6:00-8:00. These classes are offered all year.

Ø Planning for Operation Santa will begin during October. The Project Committee is always looking for volunteers that are interested in helping with Operation Santa.

November

Ø Thanksgiving Baskets will be prepared at ROOF on Nov. 21^st from 10:00 until 3:00.

Ø Thanksgiving Baskets will be distributed on Monday, Nov. 24^th and Tuesday, Nov. 25^th from 10:00-12:00 and 1:00-4:00.

December

Ø Saturday, December 6^th is the Walk-N-Knock Food Drive. Volunteers help collect, sort and box up food for the Food Bank. Volunteers are needed throughout the day starting at 10:00 AM. This event usually wraps up around 4:00 PM

Ø Volunteers are needed for the first few weeks in December to help prepare for Operation Santa. This includes sorting and organizing toys and clothes, shopping and distributing flyers.

Ø Packaging Holiday Turkey Baskets will be done on Dec. 19^th from 10:00-3:00

Ø Operation Santa will be Saturday, December 20^th from 8:00-4:00

Ø Holiday Turkey Baskets will also be distributed on Saturday, Dec. 20^th and Monday, Dec. 22^nd from 10:00-12:00 and 1:00-4:00.
